Here's a small lighthearted scene I came up with as a tie-in for Obi-Wan giving Anakin's lightsaber to Luke.

INT. CORUSCANT, Anakin and Padme's quarters
OBI-WAN enters briskly, but before he can speak ANAKIN starts speaking excitedly.
ANAKIN
Obi-Wan, look! I finished my new lightsaber!
OBI-WAN
(amiably)
What was wrong with the last one?
ANAKIN
Nothing, I just wanted to add a few
features I came up with.
Smiling, ANAKIN adjusts something on the lightsaber, and it seems
to become longer and brighter. He turns it back to normal, then switches
it off and looks at the hilt.
ANAKIN
Actually, I was thinking that I'd give
my old lightsaber to my son.
(flourishes the hilt)
He's going to be a great Jedi warrior!
PADME enters. She now is visibly pregnant.
PADME
Or maybe she will be a great leader,
who inspires her people to the heights
of peace and prosperity!
ANAKIN smiles at her as she puts her arm around him.
OBI-WAN
Be that as it may, it is time for us to
catch a ship...

After re-reading this, the light saber adjustment gimmick started to bug me. Too silly, and unsubstantiated by the films.
Then it hit me when I was reading another post about Luke and Vader's encounter in ROTJ, when Vader implied that the building of a light saber was an indication that he was done training.

OBI-WAN
(surprised)
You... finished?
ANAKIN
Yeah! It was harder than I thought it
would be, but I like a challenge.
ANAKIN moves the light saber through a few basic practice moves.
OBI-WAN
Anakin, that's amazing! That means you're...
done with training. Maybe I am as good as
Yoda after all! You could test for full Jedi
status now. (Looks down uncomfortably.)
If they would accept you, that is.
The two share an awkward moment of silence before OBI-WAN continues.
OBI-WAN
Well, I suppose we can return your training
saber to the temple.
ANAKIN
